About me

They call me Lia. I'm a passionate kind of girl. I get excited about things that are green, homemade, socially responsible, feminist, or any combination of the above.

I'm that (kind of detestable) girl who makes her own almond milk, PJs and hand lotion, and the girl who doesn't use makeup, hairspray or preservatives. Buying toothpaste requires extensive research first, buying me a present is actually the most efficient way to make me like you less, and if you call me out on oppressive behaviour, immediately thereafter, you may become my lifelong friend.

I need to believe that we're all connected. Working on social justice issues helps keep me humble and connected to the vast network of humans on this planet. We're really powerful together, but so many people get left behind, and that's not OK.

I love to grow and learn, and I love to surround myself with people who challenge me constructively (though I have no patience for people who shit on other people). When something beautiful happens in my life, I want to share it with others. When something disastrous happens, I want to cry with a friend.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Mouth off in the comments, as long as you've got something clever or constructive to say. I'll probably like you better for it.
